A waiting game. Antique, dated and soon-to-be discarded furniture line the street in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Eagerly anticipating the crowds and excitement that is about to flood in.
Yearly the Netherlands' largest hiking event takes place in the summer in Nijmegen. The town is put upside down for 4 days with hikers, parties and events. The days before the final and festive final entry of the hikers, people reserve a place along the route to view the spectacle. These chairs will be collected after the event to be discarded. It's their last hurrah, a last beautiful use of this old furniture.
The days before the final event however, the chairs seems eccentrically out of place, in a forested area along a rather busy road and cycling path.
